Merrimack Athletics Magazine
My senior capstone project focused on developing a cohesive athletics magazine for Merrimack College that highlights student-athletes, school spirit, and the overall energy of the program. The publication combines editorial storytelling with strong visual design, featuring athlete interviews, in-depth stories, and engaging content such as “this or that” and “day-in-the-life” features to showcase the personalities behind the teams.
The target audience includes students, athletes, and fans, and my role was to create a publication that feels both authentic and visually compelling while maintaining a clean, professional aesthetic. I applied skills in layout design, typography, branding, and visual storytelling, along with experience in planning editorial content and collaborating with writers and photographers.
The biggest challenge was balancing dynamic, high-energy sports visuals with a structured and cohesive layout system, but through iteration and refinement, I was able to create a magazine that feels both engaging and consistent. This project reflects my ability to integrate content and design into a unified publication while continuing to develop my creative direction and technical design skills.
